A skill is reusable guidance for a particular kind of work. It can describe a method, checklist, output format, or set of conventions that Aleria should follow when that skill is relevant.
Decide what belongs in a skill
Use a skill for a procedure such as reviewing a supplier proposal, preparing a weekly report, or applying a writing standard. Use a Source for the reference material the procedure depends on. Use an agent for the broader role that may perform several procedures.
Create a skill
Describe the procedure in chat or use the available skill creation controls. Include:
- When the skill should be used.
- The information it needs before starting.
- The steps to follow and checks to perform.
- The output the user should receive.
Ask Aleria to turn your team's method into a reusable skill, then review the instructions. Test it on an example before sharing it with others.
Use it again
Select a standalone skill from the composer where available, attach it to an agent, or add it to a project's Instructions and Skills. Plugin-provided skills are accessed through their owning plugin; select the plugin when you want that package's capabilities.
Maintain it
Update the skill when the procedure changes, and keep references to current source documents. A skill is guidance, not a grant of permission to a connected account.
