Create an automation

Updated September 14, 2026

An automation defines work that can run repeatedly or respond to an event. It brings together instructions, an optional agent, a schedule or trigger, and a history of separate runs.

Create the setup

  1. Open Automations and choose New automation.
  2. Choose Create in chat for help preparing a draft, or Set up manually.
  3. Give it a name and clear instructions.
  4. Choose an agent, or leave the agent empty to use Aleria's default agent.
  5. Select when it should run and review the required accounts.
  6. Review its project and output access, then create it.

A useful instruction names the inputs, the work, and the expected result: “Every Monday, summarize the previous week's project updates. List completed work, blockers, and decisions needed.”

Choose how it starts

Use a schedule for recurring work, Manual for work you start yourself, a webhook for an authenticated external request, or an available Outlook trigger for email or calendar events.

Meeting setup is covered under meeting notes, where the calendar connector and notetaker requirements are explained.

Test the result

Start with a controlled run and open its conversation. Check the sources, external actions, and output before relying on unattended repetition.

See schedules, event triggers, run history, and access.
