Use the read-aloud control on a supported response when you want to listen instead of reading. This plays the response text; it does not start microphone recording or join a meeting.
Start and stop playback
- Open the conversation containing the response.
- Open the message actions if they are collapsed.
- Choose the read-aloud or speaker control.
- Use the playback controls to stop or pause where available.
Check your device volume and selected audio output if you cannot hear the response. A Bluetooth headset may be receiving the sound even when the phone or computer appears silent.
Choose suitable content
Spoken playback works best for prose. Tables, formulas, code, and long lists can be harder to follow aloud. Ask Aleria for a spoken summary when the answer contains detailed structured material, and keep the original response for checking exact values.
Playback availability can depend on the client and deployment. If the control is absent, check that your app is up to date and ask your administrator whether speech output is available.
