Invite members and collaborate in a project

Updated September 14, 2026

Project membership lets colleagues participate in shared work. Organization membership and project access are related but separate: being in the same organization does not mean every chat is shared.

Add people

  1. Open the project and its sharing or members controls.
  2. Select the people who should participate.
  3. Review the access or role offered by the dialog.
  4. Save the changes and ask a member to open the project from their own account.

If a person is unavailable in the picker, check their organization membership with an administrator. If you cannot manage members, ask the project owner or a manager to make the change.

Choose chat visibility

A project chat can be private or shared with the project. Check the visibility control before sharing sensitive work. Project-shared chats can be opened and continued by project members; private chats remain accessible only to their owner.

Agree which conversation the team should use for a decision so that parallel discussions do not produce conflicting versions of the work.

Review access over time

When someone changes roles or leaves a project, review their membership and any separate sharing links or resource grants. Removing one form of access is not a substitute for reviewing other grants.
