Aleria is one product, but not every workspace sees every feature. What you can use depends on your organization's plan, on settings your administrator controls, and on how Aleria is deployed for your organization. This article explains why you might not see a feature described in these guides, and what to do about it.
If a feature in these guides does not appear for you, it is almost always one of three things: your plan, an administrator setting, or how Aleria is deployed. When in doubt, ask your workspace administrator.
Organizations and plans
Your company has an Aleria organization, which holds the plan, billing, and seats, and can contain many workspaces. Plans range from a small free or personal tier up to Team and Enterprise. The plan is set at the organization level, and it determines which of the larger features are available. See the Organization vs workspace section of Workspaces.
What needs which plan or setting
Here is a plain guide to the features that are not always on:
| Feature | When you have it |
|---|---|
| Chat, agents, skills, sources, workflows | Available across plans. These are the core of Aleria. |
| Boards | Part of the Enterprise plan. |
| Apps | Turned on per workspace by your administrator. |
| Tasks (the Agentic Workforce) | Turned on per workspace by your administrator. |
| Agents on messaging channels (Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, Mattermost) | Turned on per workspace by your administrator. See Agents. |
| Connectors | Available except in fully air-gapped deployments, which have no internet by design. |
The exact mix for your organization may differ. The simplest check is to look in the sidebar: if a feature is there, you have it.
Why a feature might not appear
If something in these guides is not visible to you, the usual reasons are:
- Your plan does not include it. For example, Boards is an Enterprise feature.
- Your administrator has not enabled it for your workspace yet, such as Apps or Tasks.
- Your deployment does not support it. For example, connectors are unavailable in an air-gapped setup, because that environment has no outside connection on purpose. See Deployment and security.
- Your permissions do not allow it. Some actions, such as inviting members, depend on your workspace role. See Workspaces.
How to get a feature turned on
- For features your administrator controls (such as Apps, Tasks, or messaging channels), ask your workspace Owner or Admin.
- For features that depend on the plan (such as Boards), your organization's Owner can talk to your Aleria account team about upgrading.
- If you are not sure which applies, your workspace admin is the fastest first stop.
A note on billing
Billing is handled at the organization level, based on seats and your plan. Plan and seat changes are made by an organization Owner or Admin. If you have a question about your specific plan, your account team can help.
Common questions
Why don't I see Boards in my sidebar?
Boards is part of the Enterprise plan, so it only appears if your organization is on Enterprise. If you need it, your organization's Owner can talk to your Aleria account team about upgrading.
Which features need Enterprise, and which just need my administrator to turn them on?
Boards is the feature tied to the Enterprise plan. Apps, Tasks (the Agentic Workforce), and agents on messaging channels are turned on per workspace by your administrator, so they do not require Enterprise, just an admin toggle.
I can't find any connectors. What happened?
Connectors appear on every deployment except a fully air-gapped one, which has no internet by design and hides them. If your organization runs air-gapped, connectors will not appear, and that is expected.
Where do I change my plan or manage billing?
Billing is handled at the organization level, based on seats and your plan. Plan and seat changes are made by an organization Owner or Admin, and your account team can help with questions about your specific plan.
